"Is the SaxTuition Studio for me?"

Who the Studio is for :

  • You are an intermediate player (or above). You can already form a consistent tone, read basic sheet music, and find your way around the instrument, but you feel stuck in a plateau.

  • You have a specific, burning goal. Whether it’s playing a solo at a family wedding, joining a local blues band, or finally mastering improvisation - you have a "mission" for 2026.

  • You want honest, direct feedback. You are willing to record yourself playing (even if it’s imperfect) and send it to me so we can fix your bad habits before they stick.

Who the Studio is not for :

  • You are a complete beginner. If you have never held a saxophone before or can’t produce a sound yet, you will get much more value starting with the Beginner Series first.

  • You want the traditional "weekly lesson" model. If you want a teacher to watch you practice scales for 30 minutes every Tuesday at 4pm, this format is not for you.

  •  You are looking for a "magic pill." I can give you the roadmap, the specifics, and the encouragement, but I can’t do the practice for you - that part's up to you.

Weekly Private Lessons

  • Average cost $3744 per year (1hr, in-studio lessons) -  Not including travel time, books, materials & cancellation fees.

  • Lessons may not fit with your schedule. Adults often require more flexibility on when to learn than children.

  • No help throughout the week - If you get stuck on something after your lesson, a whole week goes by until you get input from your teacher.
  • Limited availability of quality instructors. Sometimes, simply finding an experienced sax teacher you 'gel' with can be the ultimate challenge - and that's if there's even any in your area.
